The Arts Council of Central Finland is an expert unit of the national regional art administration. We work to strengthen the arts and culture in our region. We distribute grants and subsidies to professional artists and communities in this region from the appropriations allocated by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

We support professional and recreational activities in the fields of the arts and culture by means of development and service projects. We have an extensive regional and national cooperation network. In addition, we carry out international cooperation, and in 2012 we will also award travel grants to artists and artist groups.

We actively monitor culture policy with the aim of having the arts and culture included as part of regional development work. We want to serve our customers in matters affecting the arts and culture, as well as the creative industries.
